WM Bin Location and Product Setup overview
Function acronym: WMSB
Use this page to create one or more bin locations in a warehouse. Then, associate these bin locations with specific products and assign quantities of products per bin.
You must have already set up the specific product(s) in Product Setup and in Product Warehouse Product Setup. You can, then, specify the bin location in the Product Warehouse Product Setuprecord so the inventory records for that warehouse are updated, or deleted, together. You must have already specified options SA Admin Options-Products-Warehouse Manager to control the relationships between Warehouse Manager and other functions in the Distribution SX.e system.
Use the Search pane to specify criteria to filter for an existing warehouse, bin location, assignment, or status. The grid lists records meeting the criteria. Grid columns provide data about the record, including a # Products column that lists the number of different products assigned to this bin. From the grid, you can add, edit, or delete bin locations.
- In the General view, you can edit the attributes assigned to the bin, including the setting values for Sizes,Dates, and Counts.
- In the Products view, if you have assigned one or more products to a bin, these products are listed. Expand a product and edit the bin location data associated with the product, including the Quantities, Dates, Counts sections.
Create bin locations using the format: Bldg/Row/Section/Shelf. Create at least one Primary bin location. The replenishment and auditing actions key in on the primary bin location. Assign one or more products to a bin location. If multiple products are stored in this bin location, that affects some of the options you available to manage the bin. You can delete a product from the list by clicking
. All quantities in the record must be zero. Ensure no active (Stage 1) WM transaction records exist.
