Capturing a signature

Two options are available to be integrated for capturing signatures: Topaz device option and CenPOS Signature Capture device option. Use either signature capture option to obtain electronic signatures during counter sales to confirm customer receipt of an order. The CenPOS Signature Capture device option can be used to capture a receipt signature and a credit card signature. Be aware that your steps may vary based on your device setup, how you have set your signature requirement settings, and whether you have setup a specific operator in Authorization Security.

Note: If a) you are using the CenPOS Signature Capture option, b) a signature is required, and c) you try to proceed through an order without capturing a signature, a message is displayed:Confirm. Do you want to skip the Required Signature? Click Yes to skip. If you click Yes, and encounter an authorization point, the Authorization Required window is displayed. Contact a supervisor to grant authority to allow you to proceed.

Use these general instructions to capture a customer’s signature in Sales Order Entry.

Select Sales > Entry > Order.
Add or maintain an order.
Depending on the needs of your workflow, you can capture a signature from the Sales Order Entry- Maintain window or the Collect Payment.

If you use the CenPOS Signature Capture device:
1. In the Collect Payment view, click Signature. The CenPOS Signature form is displayed and activates the signature pad on the device.
2. Instruct the customer to sign the signature pad for receipt of goods.
3. Click DoneCenPOS Signature form closes and the . The Collect Payment view is displayed .
If you use the Topaz device:
1. In the Collect Payment view, click Signature. The CenPOS Signature form is displayed and activates the signature pad on the device.
2. Instruct the customer to sign the signature pad for receipt of goods.
3. Click Accept. The. The Order Entry Signature Capture window closes and the Collect Payment view is displayed.
Finish the order.
