Moving a Value Add section to Work In Process

You can move part of a Internal Process (IT) or Inspection (IS) Value Add section to Work In Process (WIP) before the section is completed.

  1. Select Value Add > Entry > Order.
  2. Specify the warehouse and VA order number; click Search.
  3. Drill down to display the VA order Header, Sections, and Line Items view.
  4. Access the Sections view, and select the section containing the IT or IS line you want to mark as WIP.
  5. Access the Line Items view.
  6. Select the lines of the IT or IS section you want to move and click Mark As WIP.
  7. Access the Sections view.
  8. With the section selected, click Move to WIP.
  9. Specify the Posting Date, Posting Period, and whether or not you want to Create Stock Adjustments or include Addons.

    To move addons associated with the section to WIP, you must have the option, Include Addons, selected in SA Adminstrator Options-Products-Costs for the Post to G/L By option.

  10. Click OK.

    This action creates a similar, but new, section above the existing section. The lines that were marked for WIP are moved to the new section, and the VA order is re-sequenced. The new section line designated as WIP is considered complete and the General Ledger is updated. Updated charges are shown on the Header view.
